The Spanish increasingly opt for two-wheel transport with unemployment still remaining a big problem in the country. In 2012 bike sales hit a record high, which stood at 780,000 items, while cars sold in the same year numbered just 700,000. Official statistics suggest 56% Spaniards aged 18-24 are unemployed. Many of these turn to bikes instead of cars out of economic concerns.
